Posting a bit late today since my week has been a bit harder having little ones sick. Im thankful thou for a new day and hopeful we will all be strong and healthy soon.
This week I made two cards using a few challenges I visit often. My first card uses the colors from Create with Connie & Mary Color Challenge 238 CCMC238 with the sketch from Retrosketches #50
I truly enjoy using these colors together. Is bright and just happy. My stamp sets are: Mixed Bunch (flower) and Vintage Verses (from SAB brochure) and Netting Background (background for sentiment); Cardstock: Whisper White; My DSP is Sycamore Street (orange, from SAB brochure) and Summer Smooches (green); Tools: Blossom Punch, Big Shot, Finishes Touching Edgelits, Honeycomb Texture Impressions Folder. Embellishment: Baker's Twine in white. The size for this card is a standard 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" For the sentiment I first stamped a piece of Whisper White in Calypso Coral with the Netting background stamp and then with my Thanks sentiment on Island Indigo. :)
I made one more card for the Challenge at Simply Less is More Challenge. Hop over to their site to see other 'simple' beauties. This challenge asked for One Layer Card including some MUSIC reference.
It is a very simple card with a bit of masking. First I stamped my You are my Sunshine single stamp (isn't it cute!) on a piece of copy paper, then cut around it. Then I stamp it again with Staz On Black on my Whisper White CS. Took the cut piece from copy paper and place on top of the one stamped on my card base. Run my Music Notes Standard Wheel on Daffodil Delight. Last I colored inside my sentiment with Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and Real Red Stampin'Markers. Oh, and I mimic 3 dots from the border on too corner AND rounded the opposite ones. :D So what do you think?Im not sure this is my style of card...but I had fun and follow the guidelines...one layer card, not too much!
If you click on the materials shadowed it will give you more info on that particular stamp or tool.
Thank you for leaving your comments and for visiting my creative home...you are a blessing to me. Which one did you like the best? Come back tomorrow to see another sample with You are my Sunshine and some good tips for organizing your Big Shot dies!
Creative blessings are coming your way,
Jessica U.
Oh cute card...love the stripes in the Honeycomb folders and these colors are perfect! Hope everyone gets healthy soon! Thanks for playing along with the Color challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary!
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards xx Jan
ReplyDeleteThey're both gorgeous but I love the musical background on the second.
ReplyDeleteThis is super... I love the design, although you do have the music manuscript upside down! It's quite tricky to tell but one way is to look for the flicks on the sticks of some of the notes... they should always be on the right hand side of the sticks!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much

Super card!! I love the hexes and how you used the designer paper! Genius! Such a beautiful, bright and fun card! Love it!! Thanks for playing the challenge at Create with Connie and Mary!
ReplyDeleteThe honeycomb card is absolutely beautiful! I love the burst of colors and classy style. Masking is something I just don't get, I'd like to work on that again in club one day...The 3 dots/sequins in the top and bottom corner of the sunshine card caught my attention- so cute!
