Sweets Tips, Technique and More!

Hello my dear friends,

I have a few awesome announcements today.
First let me show you what I made with my new Paper Pumpkin kit. As you well know I like to make new things with each of the kits we receive. I will be showing this technique to my sweet Paper Pumpkin Friends this Friday.

I mixed some of the precious kits stamps to make my sentiment. "You are" from the Wish Big kit sentiment "You are simply awesome" and "sweet" from the latest one. :) The chevron is from a previous kit I can't remember the name now…argh! I also used some decorative leaves to my project (bag of them sells for like 97 cents in Walmart…shhh!)

I enclosed a cello bag with MnMs inside. Surely sharing sweetness.

Creative Hop -- My Creative Journey!

Hello my friends,

It is a Monday and God is good…yes! He is also good on Mondays…haha! I pray you have a wonderful day creating blessings wherever you go one way or another.

Now, my friend and fellow designer at My Pumpkin Challenge tag me for the Creative Hop! Thanks Lisa Harlow for thinking of me….I met Lisa through My Paper Pumpkin. She makes the most beautiful projects and definitely caught our attention at My Pumpkin Challenge. We were elated when she accepted our invitation to be a designer there. She also homeschools her little ones which brings her even closer to my heart…loves Stampin'Up! and is a christian too! Eeek! Truly a blessing in my life.

What am I working on now?

Truly I am working on BALANCE.I am a very passionate person and when I dedicate myself to something I am very stubborn. At the moment I am truly VERY busy. I am keeping a marriage, a home - including three little ones, food, laundry, errands, phone calls, appointments…); I also homeschool, lead worship at my church in PA every third week and play the keys every Sunday, and I have BIG dreams through Stampin'Up! I prepare and design classes for my local ladies, keep up with a blog and try my best to update my Facebook group every week. Did I forget to mention I am always creating! No…I don't' sleep much, neither watch much tv. Soooo, I need balance…fixing my eyes on Jesus and following His lead helps. I love life and I'm passionate about EVERYTHING He puts in my heart to do.

How does my work defers from others on my genre?
My work is a bit different in that I am not only trying to inspire through my classes and blog but also make them great. Making others great keeps me going. Is not about making me or my business great, is about making them great. When I think about how the Lord put others first THAT makes a difference in me. When I think on how Joseph's dream didn't come true TILL he made Pharaoh great. Have you ever wonder about it? We are called to estimate others better than ourselves. Empower others with love.

"You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great."

Psalm 18:35

How does YOUR work defers from others? Have you ever ask yourself that question?

Why do I create what I do?
I create out of a thankful heart! Back in 2006 I dealt with some serious health issues. I was diagnosed with epilepsy and my world turned upside down. No one knew why I was having this awful attacks, but I knew only One person could heal me. And He did! Jesus, my Lord and Savior not only saves but also heals and He healed my body from epilepsy. I picked up the art of stamping during those hard years struggling with it. My previous passion and hobby was dancing, and with that ailment I was not able to do it much, so stamping was a creative outlet for me to still develop my creativity without getting off a chair. :)

This and much more fuels me to share the love of God and stamping with others. Do not quit on your dreams, especially when they will bring praise to the King of Kings. He healed me, and I pray what I do brings healing to others too in the name of Jesus.

Also, now I can dance!!! Gee! Enough of me…why do YOU create?


How does my creative process go?
Normally It start with imagination. I think of an idea with a certain stamp and put it down on a scrap piece of paper, napkin, whatever is there to write or draw on.
After my design is made, I start getting all my needed tools together and as soon I have a minute I make it. Then take a picture….watermark and find the day I want to share it on my blog. 
Other times, a class plan inspires me. For example I am working on a class displaying the Envelope Punch Tool…so I research, I take notes, try the different ideas and then start making samples to show….eeek! 
Last but not least a sketch helps. At times when my creative juices are not flowing I find a sketch online or another card on Pinterest that gets me going.Ta-da! How do YOU create?

This was a refreshing time of relexion for me…why do I do what I do…what am I working on…focus, focus…and since this blessed me let me tag a few of my blogging friends here!

I want to tag my friends Heather Heroldt and Boni Montano! You've got to see my friend's art but most importantly their hearts. I have made such beautiful connections with these two bloggers and Stampin'Up! demonstrators. I can't wait to meet them in person someday soon. They inspire me with their love, friendship and creativity.

World Card Making Day is Tomorrow..check these!

Saturday October 4th is World card Making Day?

Sweets & Treats Challenge

Hello my dear friends,

When I received my latest Paper Pumpkin kit I knew what I was getting, a Halloween kit with Halloween stamps. Only little detail is this mama does not celebrate Halloween. So what was I to do with my beautiful kit…love all the sequins..they are ORANGE!! Gotta love orange, plus the burlap and  such cute tags.

Well…here is my first non-Halloween project with this kit. Hope you find inspiration to use every bit of your kits EVEN if is for  a holiday you don't' particularly care much about. :D

My daughters started embroidery last week. As beginners I started them with plastic canvases and yarn. 

They both loved this, but we didn't have a needle cushion for the big blunt needles we are using at the time so the burlap bag provided the perfect place.

I added polyester filler to one of the baggies.

Folded the top flap inside..

Made two knots wight the floss provided in the kit.

Then embellished each with a Spiral Flower cut from Craft Felt int he colors my girlies like.

Showing how to fold the Spiral Flower I cut with my Spiral Die (looove it!)

Start with the outside smaller end folding toward the inside.

Place a dab of hot glue on the bottom of all the layers.

I use the same technique with Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue when using card stock or paper Spiral Flowers. :)

Hold for a little bit as shown till dries.

Still holding..haha!

Now place a dab of hot glue on the bottom and put in place with the bit of sequins strip.

Ta-da! Here I used my Gold sequins from the SU catalog.

Here I used the orange provided with the kit…so sweet! 

My daughters absolutely like their needle cushions.

Project Life Class Snapshots

Hello my dear friends,

I am so grateful to have you each in my life. I've been having a wonderful time this whole month of September. It's been amazing to meet new stampers, grow in friendship with the ones I know and try new things together. Last Saturday we tried Project Life Seasonal Snapshot…and what a great time we had.

First let me show you the set up, my first pages and then what some of my ladies made. Is so much fun! You HAVE to give it a try. I enjoyed going thru these pictures and realizing how blessed I am so have these memories and more to come.

Project Life stamps like the Holiday Cheer are so useful for many things.

I got to show the quality of the 12 x 12 album. Love it!

 

My table was welcoming the festivities definitely!
