simple sunday sympathy

I always hesitate about making sympathy cards. Still, it is always in my heart to send a paper hug when the circumstances come my way. One of my sweet friend's Daddy went to be with the Lord recently. Another had surgery that left her waiting for her slow recovery in a difficult and painful position. Another is fighting the battle of her life against cancer. Another, going through such difficulties trying to find a new place to live. 

Still, I believe Jesus reigns. I pray His peace that surpasses understanding holds each of them strong and helps them see His mercies in a brand new and comforting way. His love never disappoints. I am praying for His help, healing and open doors for each of them. Pray with me.

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months"

James 5:16-17

To make this card I followed one of my previous easy sketches from the tutorial here.

For this one: 

Cut a piece of pretty Designer Series Paper 

to 2" x 5 1/2", fold in half at 1" lengthwise

Glue to the inside of the front of your A2 card 

(8 1/2" x 5 1/2") Embellish adding a sentiment and leaves around it.

Hope & Prayers

Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

Seeing how our country is hurting these days calls us, the church, to bring healing through our prayers and good works. How can you make a difference in one person's life today? Pray. 

Desperate times call for desperate measures. We are living in desperate times. Therefore let's call on the Name above all names, Jesus. Seek God's face and turn from wicked ways. He will hear you, He will forgive you and heal your land. Your heart. Your family. Your city. Yes Lord indeed, heal our land and so many hearts aching this week. 

Some Stamping

During my quiet time this morning I opened my new stamp set Hope & Prayers from Stampin'Up!, the beautiful Abigail Rose Designer Series paper -from my Pretty Papers Shares- and the clear Lovely Layers Vellum Sheets.

I created these cards and prayed.

I am hoping I can use this stamp set and supplies to cheer the brokenhearted in our country. Indeed the Bible promises in Psalm 91:4 "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."

I am learning to walk in works of generosity as the Lord has been prompting my heart to pray and help orphans and widows right here in our country. "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." James 1:27

Please Pray

Please pray for a sweet scrapbooking YouTube friend, Laura Alberts. She hs been an inspiration to me for quiet sometime through her videos. Consider sending her some help ($ to her venmo or PayPal account, following her facebook group, subscribing to her channel, watching her videos, commenting and liking her videos, all of this helps her with income) as she now embarks the challenge of raising her 5 children without her best friend, father of her children and sole breadwinner. She lost her husband this last weekend. She has been truly in my heart as well as all the families who lost wonderful parts of their hearts, their rewards, their beautiful children in the Texas shooting this week. 😔 So much heartbreak. Lord, only YOU can comfort these families. Only You can, so we pray.
