National Scrapbooking Day with Stampin'Up!

Every year I wait with great anticipation for this day on the calendar.

Yes! Is coming, this Saturday May 6th is National Scrapbooking Day.

A day to remember all the beautiful memories and do something about them.

It amazes me how many times I think I WILL remember something, and then time flies and the memory of those details is gone.

I don't want to forget the good things...it brings me joy!

Things I discovered in the last months:

1. I like both traditional and pocket pages soooo, I am mixing them.
Allows me to use more pictures and coordinate materials.

2. I REALLY love starting with the story.
I used a sheet from Simple Scrapper that helped me to list the stories I wanted to tell. The TV series Duck Dynasty ended on April, it made me realized we will no longer be meeting in the Family room to watch the "newest" episode of Will and Si! Yeah, my kids looove Uncle Si and his craziness. Not all shows we watch with the kids, but Duck Dynasty was one of the fews. The Profit is more for Mom and Daddy time. :)

THAT story, started these pages.

3. I totally love hiding my journaling. Is so much fun! I love leaving little notes in unexpected places on my pages.
I used a real popcorn bag I had leftover from a party (found them in Michael's) to insert a Project Life card with my journaling. Fun fun!

 4. Sketches make my life easier!
Plus embellishments make it fun! I found these stickers at a store, since I ALREADY knew I wanted to make this layout I purchased them and used them all! Fun fun! A sketch shared at the Simple Scrapper community helped me with this page.

Jeniffer Wilson, from Simple Scrapper, sent me an email a while ago where she shared her creative process to start scrapbooking. Much of it similar to mine! That was motivating! Check it below!

Five Step Quick Start for Your Next Layout
  1. Choose 1-4 images that tell a story and make you happy.
  2. Find a sketch or template the fits the number of photos selected.
  3. Select a non-thematic digital or paper kit that goes-with-anything.
  4. Assemble the layout, layering from the bottom up.
  5. Rearrange if needed, adhere and embellish the layout.

Each of these steps can be completed in a separate sitting and can take as little as 10-15 minutes. Set a timer if you need help making decisions. Focus on moving forward over perfection.
xoxo
Jennifer

P.S. Over on the Simple Scrapper blog I regularly share free samples of sketches and templates directly from our membership library.

Beautiful You...still a favorite!

Giving small details to others makes my heart happy.

I got this ensemble at a store, but was missing something else, right?

So I got my Beautiful You stamps et out and my clear Wink of Stella.

It looks so shimmery!

This card I made for my Dad, I love him so much.
He has many chickens and loves taking care of them every morning AND the roosters.

I got to bring Miss Cecilia out, she is from a stamp set I received free during Stampin'Up! Sale-a-bration promotion last March. Hey chick!

This sentiment is from the Designer Tin of cards
-retiring this May 31st.

A beautiful blessing...

Hello everyone,

So glad to be back to my blogging. Let's just say April was a challenging month. I am so grateful we have different months and different seasons. When I saw the flowers blooming I KNEW the seasons would change and my heart was excited to see May coming!

Romans 15:13 "May the God of HOPE fill you will joy and peace as you must in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

I made this card and small gift for a friend I visited at the hospital a couple of weeks ago. My daughters and I made soaps for the first time using different molds. We took one of these rose-smelling soaps to my friend, a bar of chocolate and a card.

Wonder how that gold border is around the rose.
I used my soon to retire Gold Wink of Stella.
The clear Wink won't retire thou. ;)

here some of the gem soas we made! Love them!

This was my first project with this awesome stamp set.
Why I waited so long to get it? :/

WONDERING how I made the tassel?
Back in July2016, Paper Pumpkin sent a kit that used twine to make tassels. I learned watching a video from PP!
You can check it out here!
Is easy!
