Who inspires you?
This time around I took some time to sit and create with God alone. I enjoy having quiet times to simply BE with Him and I am so grateful I did this last Saturday. I know life is hectic but these moments are so special and I have so much fun receiving great ideas from Him. Do you believe Jesus enjoys having times with you? He surely does, He cares about the little things in our lives, even stamping. Will you give this super easy fun fold a try?
Be intentional, have more fun with Jesus.
When Jesus and the disciples were invited to a wedding
(John 2:1-12) I am sure they went expecting to have fun. A wedding was a cause for celebration, laughter, good food and exceptional wine. It was expected to be a time of laughter, not mourning. A time to relax, not to work. A time of new beginnings and great significance.
Jesus cared enough to keep the celebration going. No mention of His name. No need to call attention to Himself. he cared THIS MUCH for the bride and the groom. No time to thank Him. He cared about the little details. He cared about them and He cares about you. Yes, your marriage feasts, your children's birthdays, your graduation, your hobby, your fun... such an amazing God we serve.
As we grow older we tend to want to have a good-enough reason to DO things we enjoy, switching our child-like faith and playtime for religiosity, work and numbers-driven performance. We tend to want certain outcomes, instead of encountering each moment as unwrapping a gift.
Don’t misunderstand what I am sharing. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” There are times to work hard and sweat, but these without fun become heavy rocks to carry. Look up child, there is more.
“Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? To surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship. Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.”
