Stampin'Up! Hey Birthday Chick Stamp set Go PINK

Stampin'Up! Birthday Chicks Stamp set

We all have chicken stories. Mine are warm and fuzzy! Did you ever get a pink little chick as a prize while competing for a turkey? I did! I loved them! My Dad, to this day, still raises chickens and raising them has become a bIG part of his life trhough the years. Like a hobby, it provides a tribe, a comfort zone, a challenge and victories area. I've enjoyed watching my Dad through the years take care of his chickens.

So a few days ago I decided to re-live some stories with the new Hey  Birthday Chicks Bundle in the new Mini Catalog. It was fun to create these during a facebook LIVE that turned a bit coo coo and emotional for me. I will be sharing that one here soon. It has taken me a couple of weeks to get back to my blogging and little by little to my usual (if EVER) crafting times. (Life with Baby is awesome, but full of changes)

What is your story with chickens? I saw them as my Dad's hobby and cherish the different names he gave to several of them. He built houses or them in my grandmother's backyard and would go have coffee with her and the chickens every morning.  Precious memories!

    Going Pink with the Chickens
  • Sometimes you have to go the scenic route! I went the pink route with these fun chickens set after my childhood memory of winning baby chicks after a Turkey Marathon. The first place would get a frozen turkey to share with their family for Thanksgiving. The second and third place got a baby chick COLORED, yeap! A pink or blue chicken. Don't ask me WHY! But it was cute and If i got one i tended to be content. I would keep the chick in my garage inside a box, feed him and took care of it TILL my Dad took him to my abuela's house. Im not sure if I ever ate one of them. LOL! My Dad kept those details.

  • At times going out of the road is fun. These pink chickens make me happy. During my video I was NOT the most organized and lost things and oh my! It was a mess, that plus no sleep (baby related!) and having too high expectations of myself left me in tears. Still I pressed on and decided to embrace the WORD given to me that same morning..."Stop and Pray"...hope you do that as well today.

Thanks for all your words of love and encouragement. We all go though seasons of change were our emotions fail us. One thing I know for sure though, our God never fails. He picks us the pieces and puts us together again.

I will be adding that video here soon! In the meantime.
