Faith Designer: Step Out of the Boat by Jessica Adams

Hello all, Jessica A. back to share with you the good news with real life applications. I’m are very thankful for the opportunity to guest post on Jessica’s Stamp a Blessing blog. She is indeed a gem and despite the miles between our cities, she is a true friend indeed!

What I find interesting about this word and it’s meaning is that character doesn’t mean how we adorn ourselves, where we live or our occupation. To me, character is what is in your heart. What are the things that you are most passionate about? What drives you to do your best and excel within the talents God has blessed you with? What motivates you to go beyond the world’s expectations?

As I read about current events or watch anything on t.v., I don’t see a lot of things worthy of good character…How do you become a person of character? How do you live your life to shape and influence those around you? I truly believe this is only possible through Jesus. When I allow His character to live through me, only then can I live my life as a ‘distinguished individual’.

When Paul writes to the Galatians, he gives them life instructions on how to activate their newborn Christian faith. His poignant use of the word ‘fruit’ in describing the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23 is fitting because fruit is pleasant, tasty, abundant and meant to be shared and enjoyed! When Paul wrote this encouraging letter to the Galatians, he knew that Almighty God desires these same attributes for us because we are made holy in Him.

Today I choose to be a woman of good character! I hope to transform my family, my community and church by living how Jesus wants me to live. Father God, my prayer is that for anyone reading this post will seek You first. You alone are our hope, our courage and our strength. The world likes to put Jesus in a box only to open on holidays or emergencies, but if we know the powerful source of our peace, we have to walk closely with you- daily. Guide our hearts to reflect Your character and use us to change the world.

As I end this series of blog posts with my theme of “Change, Challenge and Character” I hope you continue to be inspired, full of peace and encouraged along the way. God will meet you right where you are and lift you up high to where He is!
