Double Z-Fold Card by Donna Wicks

Hi Everyone, how are you?  Thank you Jessica, for having me back again to your blog!

I am excited to share my projects with you!  The style is called a "Double Z Fold" card, and my process began with my needing a special 20th birthday card.  I had such fun working with this card style, that I kind of couldn't stop myself (next up will be something for Christmas!)!

The Daisy Delight card will be my meeting project this week, also.  What fun to have something fall together right in my lap; awesome!

Instructions:

Larger Card Base:  4 1/4" x 11".  Score long side at:  2 3/4" and 5 1/2"
DSP Panels:  4 x 5 1/4" and (2) 2 1/2" x 4"  (Note: I only made one DSP panel on my samples herein, on the larger card base.)

Smaller Card Base:  3 1/2" x 8 1/2".  Score long side at:  2 1/8" and 4 1/4"
DSP Panels:  3 1/4" x 4"* and (2) 1 7/8" x 3 1/4"

Mats for card front:  3 1/4" x 4"* and 3" x 3 3/4"

     * NOTE:  My mat piece on the card front (3 1/4" x 4") was of card stock instead of with DSP.  Of course, you'll do what you like, on your own cards!

See a wonderful video tutorial by Dawn Griffith, here:

Once both card bases are scored, place them together like my card samples, centered over the larger card base, to understand where you will add adhesive.

You will Snail the right end of the smaller card piece down to the card base.

To adhere the larger panel on the left end to the card front, add snail only to the "left half of the back side" of the panel, and stick it down to the card front.

Decorate as desired.

NOTE:  I will add my message and greetings on the back side of the card; Dawn Griffith stamped and added a sentiment on a small front panel.  That's the definition of "creativity;" to do exactly what pleases you!  :)

I hope you will give this fun fold a try!

Happy Stamping!!

Getting your Creative Mojo Back by Organizing you small space.

Hello my dear stampers,

I am so happy to be blogging again.
If you know me a bit, I ENJOY routine
I love freedom and spontaneity, BUT having a routine cleans my mind, helps me to stay focused, in the moment and gives me a sense of assurance that the important things will get done.

Are you liking routine already?

My Mom gave me that cute Owl Charm!
Well, we took a two week break to get back into order. Next week we go back to school mode.
Which means more blocked times and a lot of determination to keep this household moving.

Let me share what I chose to do last week to get my CREATIVE MOTIVATION going!
I simply organized my space.

Do your space gets messy every so often?
Well, my "space" is my pantry closet. Yeah, it gets messy.
If you go here, you will see all the different spaces I've shared in the last years plus more organization tips.

In this house -which I currently rent- it had to be a simple closet, a pantry closet. See below how I keep my most-useful tools close in order.
I LOVE to cook and I LOVE to be creative,
so my crafty place is right in the kitchen. It works!

*forgot to add*
THAT BAG hanging from a hanger on the bottom right was a prize I won at a 31 party long ago.
I keep my MOST FAVE embellishments in there!
-sequins, doilies, rhinestones, enamel shapes-

Below is my new Thirty-One bag my friend Anna
gave me for my birthday! Yay!
I placed here my GO-TO items every single time I create.
Scissors, Adhesives, Clear Blocks, Paper Piercer, bone folder, a small ruler.

My most handy clear blocks fit on the side pockets.

Below, is a simple bag from Stampin'Up! filled with everything
ARTSY! My pens, my embossing tools, paste, sprays, glitter glue,
paint, wink of Stella...

This is how it goes into the bag!

An oatmeal container works great for my brushes, wink of stellar, and more!

Its a lot and I don't have to have it out all the time, so this bag is perfect.  You can see it inside my closet, is reachable!

Oh So Eclectic Bundle
Hope these ideas help you to start organizing and get your creative energy back!
You may get SO INSPIRED and craft afterwards.
No wonder I made this card for my friend Faith!

Thanks for following my blog and leaving me your comments.
It's such a blessing to stay in touch with you this way.

Two Ideas to get your Creativity Juices Flowing Again

Good morning sweet stampers,

After weeks of creating NOTHING consistently, I am getting back on track.
Now, when you stop doing something consistently you sort of feel like you lost your power, right?
O, dear...

How do you get back on track? Do you REALLY think browsing the internet will help, what about talking about it, hmmm...maybe checking a magazine.
Not in my case.

No other way than getting my stamps out and simply PLAY.
Just START

Use those pretty stamps you've been ignoring.
The creativity will kick in.

Here Two Ideas to get your Creativity Juices Flowing:

Create a Wreath
I used the Garden in Bloom stamp set in the wreath below.
Made circle with a pencil and followed the line. :)

Create a Frame
I used the Oh So Eclectic Stamp set to create my frame around the word lovely.
I am sure you already have several stamps you can use this technique one.

Two very different cards, simply done and full of love! Try it!

Stay in touch, looking for ways to get back to my CREATIVE SIDE, after a full summer.
Love you tons!

Special Guest Designer: Tascha Hagenstede

Hello my dear friends,

Hope your summer is coming to a happy end with many beautiful memories to share for years to come. Mine has been definitely different than other years. We had family members stayed with us for several weeks, trips to no end, lots of restaurant visits and a heart full of laughter with my little chipmunks making life fun.

Will update you more as life comes to a more NORMAL routine.
Several weeks ago I asked my sweet friend Tascha Hagenstede
from Germany if she would share her talent with all of you through my blog.
She graciously agreed! Yay!

Hope you enjoy these projects made with the Coffee Cafe Bundle. Absolutely delish!

I love the versatility of this Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.
Can you see the tea kettles Tascha used on her projects on the paper?  CUTE!

Thanks Tascha for sharing such beautiful projects
with us! Love you tons!

Share That Link Tuesday: Pretty Purses

Hi everyone!
It's been a few weeks that I haven't been able to do a project for share that link Tuesday. Life happens and sometimes we get distracted and that is ok.  Here we are with a cute project found on pinterest here  from Annas Bastelglanz.

What I like about this project is that you have so many options on how to decorate it and it looks gorgeous.
I made 3 of these beautiful purses for 3 girls celebrating their birthdays the same day.
I just made my own template following hers.

The cardstock colors I used were Berry Burst, Basic Black and Fresh Fig. I used the Petal Burst embossing folder for the Fresh Fig purse, a dotted one for the Berry Burst and a floral retired one for the Basic Black.   For the "buckles" I have a punch I got a long time ago and used a stack of glitter and gold paper I had in hand.  I had a lot of fun making them and they were fast and easy to make.
Hope you give it a try and customize it to your likeness.

Many blessings!

Faith Designer: Step Out of the Boat by Jessica Adams

Hello all, Jessica A. back to share with you the good news with real life applications. I’m are very thankful for the opportunity to guest post on Jessica’s Stamp a Blessing blog. She is indeed a gem and despite the miles between our cities, she is a true friend indeed!

Free illustration: Mask, Black, White, Happy, Sad - Free Image on ...Lately I have been thinking of the word ‘character’ and Webster Dictionary defines the term as one of the attributes or features that make up and distinguish an individual. What I find interesting about this word and it’s meaning is that character doesn’t mean how we adorn ourselves, where we live or our occupation. To me, character is what is in your heart. What are the things that you are most passionate about? What drives you to do your best and excel within the talents God has blessed you with? What motivates you to go beyond the world’s expectations?

As I read about current events or watch anything on t.v., I don’t see a lot of things worthy of good character…How do you become a person of character? How do you live your life to shape and influence those around you? I truly believe this is only possible through Jesus. When I allow His character to live through me, only then can I live my life as a ‘distinguished individual’.

Free photo: Fruit, Fruits, Heart, Blueberries - Free Image on ...Jesus’ character has many facets but they are intertwined with love- the love of God, the love of the Holy Spirit and the love of mankind. When Paul writes to the Galatians, he gives them life instructions on how to activate their newborn Christian faith. His poignant use of the word ‘fruit’ in describing the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23 is fitting because fruit is pleasant, tasty, abundant and meant to be shared and enjoyed! When Paul wrote this encouraging letter to the Galatians, he knew that Almighty God desires these same attributes for us because we are made holy in Him.

Today I choose to be a woman of good character! I hope to transform my family, my community and church by living how Jesus wants me to live. Father God, my prayer is that for anyone reading this post will seek You first. You alone are our hope, our courage and our strength. The world likes to put Jesus in a box only to open on holidays or emergencies, but if we know the powerful source of our peace, we have to walk closely with you- daily. Guide our hearts to reflect Your character and use us to change the world.

As I end this series of blog posts with my theme of “Change, Challenge and Character” I hope you continue to be inspired, full of peace and encouraged along the way. God will meet you right where you are and lift you up high to where He is!
