Stampin'Up! Swallowtail and Challenge Tips

Hello my dear friends/Hola mis queridas amigas,

Every time I engage in a new challenge, I learn something new. Last week I shared a tip with one of the cards I presented. The reverse-masking technique with the spritzer. Today Il show you another simple tip way below...

FabFridays has a color challenge going on and I TOTALLY love these colors. :D
Fab Fridays estan llevando a cabo un reto de colores y como me ENCANTAN estos colores juntos.

You can see other beautiful creations from this challenge HERE!
Puede ver otras creaciones usando este mismo reto donde dice aqui (here). :)

I picked #14 I'm looking for simple layouts that inspire me...and that you can easily make yourself. :)

Mi little Challenge tip for the day/Pequena idea para sus retos de sellos:
When you use your paper piercing tool use some Painter's tape to keep the card in place. It works!
Cuando use su herramienta para perforar use tirro removible como el de pintor para mantener la tarjeta en su lugar. :)

What did you like the most on today's post? Que le gusto mas de mi presentacion aqui hoy?

May all your wishes come true and your day is filled with joy,
Que sus deseos se hagan realidad y su dia sea lleno de gozo,

Good morning! This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice!

I had a good weekend thank God and rested. I am truly grateful for unexpected naps.:) I only have a couple of layouts to show you that I found and are inspiring me to scrap since last week. Sadly, I finished none of my own this weekend.I won't stress about it; wonder if having 3 little ones around plus hubby has anything to do with it? I just needed some TLC this weekend so no pages from me today, but enjoy these beauties for your inspiration.

Will be working on some this week so come back soon! Love you all, thanks for your amazing support. :)

This beautiful and bright page was made by one of Stampin'Up! Artisan Design Team members.

Inspire your soul: A word

Good morning my dear ones,

How many of you wake in the morning thirsty to hear an uplifting word? That has been my desire in the last days or weeks I may say.
I truly somedays check my email several times...then I ask myself "What am I waiting for?" Funny, eh! :)

There is a verse that I read that expresses truly my inmost desire for a day like this:
"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul."
Psalm 143:8

Let me be found in Christ. Hiding in Him in the day of my trouble. Trusting Him on the days when I cannot understand. What's so wrong with us people that strive to show everything in our path is awesome and organized...all our ducks in a row. I love what I do, love my God, my family, my city...but do I have all my ducks in a row? Nah! Do everything around looks perfect and polished? Nah! Is my soul always upbeat and singing...most of you who know me from close may think it is...you know I need no caffeine but Christ in me, He is my hope of glory. I truly believe I was made for more...I was made to see His glory...to know Him and reflect Him. I will never quit until one day I see Him face to face.

Are you waiting for that "email"? That promotion? That recognition? Gee! I've been truly waiting for it. I want to see fruit in what I am doing. Waiting is not my best art...thou I love art. The Artist is still not finished with the painting. Paint, Oh Lord Jesus ,your picture on my canvas. Help me to be patient enough to keep calm and know that you are still God...the only true God...and all is going to be ok.

A word of His unfailing love: God never fails you....even thou you walk thru the valley of the shadow of death His hand will be there with you.  Fear no evil, God is with you. To Him YOU are amazing! Faith, hope and love will last forever. Hold on...don't quit!

Love this painter's art...enjoy!

Leave me your love with your comments. I will be praying for a week full of words of His unfailing love for you.

Creative blessings ARE coming your way,

Jessica U.

Organization Tips & Masking Technique

Hello my dear ones,

I found this simple but cute tutorial in the Demonstrator's website and wanted to share. Just to refresh our memories on the masking technique. I Then below I showed a video by Stampin'Up! also that shows a way to make Reverse-masking which is the technique I used yesterday on THIS card with the Color Spritzer Tool...interesting subjects and easy to do. Try it today! Check out my sample to the left, this is the technique I used.

Masking

Directions:1) Stamp your image twice: once on card stock and once on a scrap piece of paper or sticky note.

2) Cut out the image on the scrap paper using either a hobby blade or your Paper Snips.

3) Place the cutout image over the image you stamped on your card stock.

4) Sponge or bray ink, or stamp another image over your mask.

5) Repeat masking as desired.

6) Remove mask and finish your project.

For my card I used the following materials:

Stamp set: Printed Petals
Colors: Primrose Petals, More Mustard, Perfect Plum
Paper: Whisper White, Perfect Plum
Tools: post-it notes, scissors, Big Shot, Tulip Frame EF, Ornament Punch, Itty Bitty Punches
Embellishments: Rhinestone Jewels

Check the Reverse-Masking Technique is shown on this video and take a peak at yesterday picture and you will see how I made mine...with a twist! Enjoy!

ORGANIZATION TIPS

Im excited to hear you are enjoying these tips I've been sharing. Thanks for your comments and emails. :) Surely you like keeping your most needed tools close by when creating a project? I do too! Let me show you my little box where I keep all my needed tools.

On one side (little basket) I keep all types of adhesives. Under, I keep my paper piercing stencils and mat. On one side of the little basket I keep my "jewels", meaning my rhinestones and pearls; and on the other side I keep my Stamp-a-magig plastic sheets (I have two). By the basket and rest of the plastic box I use, I keep all my acrylic blocks, my Stamp-a-magig "T's" and a small purse for the rulers, x-acto knife, a pencil, a pen, my scissors (thou these I tend to leave out), an extra scoring tool and an eraser.

That's it....what else should I place on my little basket? From time to time I add the corner rounder punch, post-it notes and also whisper white twine...depends on my creative groove :)
I keep this little box handy and TRY to organize it often, that way I always have my must-haves within reach. :)

What do you use for your must-haves? I wish I could have a desk with all these goodies, but my creative spot changes from the baby's changing table, to my kitchen, to my dining table...with this box I can be flexible. :)

Have a beautiful day and my best wishes for you to find the time today to do what you love the most. Go ahead, take some time to craft a blessing!

Love you tons,

Jessica U.

Forever Young from Stampin'Up!

Happy Wednesday my dear ones,

For all my friends who have been praying for my daughter, thank you! She is finally turning the corner, eating better and without so much pain. I am truly grateful for the prayers and thoughtful messages. Thank God for His consistent mercies.

Today I would love to share two cards I submitted for stamping challenges. The first is for the Connie & Mary Sketch Challenge CCMC239. Don't you just love this flower trim?  Very easy and quick card to say the least. Can't wait to see your responses to it. :)

Stamp set: Vintage Verses (SAB 2013)
DSP: Sycamore Street (SAB 2013)
CS: Summer Starfruit, Basic Black
Embellishment: Flower Trim

2013 Thursday Challenges-002

Here is my take using the color challenge #153 from Handstampedsentiments HSSCC153 and the sketch from Retrosketches #51

Stamp set: Forever Young, Vintage Verses (SAB2013)
CS: Pretty in Pink, Early Expresso, Whisper White

Tools: Color Spritzer Tool and markers in Pretty in Pink,
Melon Mambo and Razzleberry Ripple (the closest to Cherry Cobbler I had)

The Forever Young Stamp set is one of my all times favorites. Can you tell?
I wanted to made the tree look like spring is here! I envisioned those beautiful trees is Yakima, WA blossoming in pink all of a sudden. :)

The technique I used for this was Reverse-Masking.
I stamped my tree both in WW CS and on a piece of note paper. I cut the top of my tree from the note paper with a hobby blade. Position on top of my main image and proceed to spritz with the 3 colors on my challenge. Stamping is so fun!
Il bring more on masking plus some organization tips tomorrow

Which of my two takes you like the best? Leave me your love with your comments and come back again!

Have a wonderful day you all. It was awesome to have you over. :)

Be in the know with Stampin'Up!

Good morning my dear ones,

I love showing you samples with what Stampin'Up! is currently promoting as able, so here is a simple card with the new stamp set Best of Birthdays. I used only the sentiment "Celebrate". Also a 1" circle punch in fun colors and the Sale-a-bration buttons in Tangerine Tango, Pool Party and Rich Razzleberry. I embossed my Whisper White base with the Cloudy Day Embossing Folder after adhering the circles and threaded one of the buttons with Whisper White baker's twine. Glue dots work great for adhering the buttons.

Scrapbooking Monday with Stampin'Up!

Joy and blessings dear ones,

During my wonderful Sunday rest my DH took the kids upstairs for a little while so I could "work" on a fun scrapbook page. I chose to use digital stamp brushes, paper and punches that are included in the MDS2 trial download (except for the ribbon, sorry!). Hope you like it and think of all the possibilities! Yipee!

Don't miss this opportunity to check MDS2 out. You can try the software on your computer for free for 30 days. You get a ton of graphics to play with, including all the graphics I used in today's digital scrapbook page. See all the graphics HERE! To get the trial download go to my store here, find your download and get it as if you were going to pay for it. Only difference is the price will be cero!

I am indeed loving how many possibilities we have with the MDS2 software...but I can never leave my papers and rubber stamps behind...lol! I really enjoy stamps. So I took advantage and finished a layout I started months ago but could not figure out how to do it. I had pictures already printed and cut, papers picked and cardstock...just not quiet ready to put it together until yesterday!

Sisters Forever & Always

Stamp sets used for my embellishments are Apothecary Accents, Loving Thoughts,
and Printed Petals. I also used the Labels Collection Framelits to cut and the Itty Bitty
punches for the small flowers.Oh, and my scissors! :)

I so wanted to try this beautiful curve on a page since I got my Simply Scored Borders Plate.
So fun to use! Stay in touch for a couple of tutorials and a soon to come video using this Borders Plate. Here I embossed the Chocolate Chip CS, then did the same with a piece of about 4" x 12" of Very Vanilla, but this one I cut with scissors, then adhered to the side of my 12 x 12 CChip CS.

Last but not least my favorite alphabet at the moment. Typeset Alphabet Die.
My colors are Rose Red, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, Island Indigo and Chocolate Chip.
The DSP is retired, one of my favorites, 'Sweet and Sour'.

Have you been doing any scrapbooking this year? What do you like to do? Paper or Digital?
As I shared yesterday Consistency is one of my values and goals particularly this year. I am not where I want to be yet, but thank God I am not where I used to be. Little by little I am placing some of my favorite memories on scrapbook pages. I'm actually placing all of them on my fireplace mantel to look at  them for a bit longer. Then I plan to place them in a book. :)

Leave me your love with your comments and feel free to browse around. Go to my LABELS on the sidebar...click on scrapbooking to see what I've been doing this year so far. :)

See you tomorrow with some cards inspiration,

Jessica U.

Inspire your soul: Consistency

Good day my dear,

Today is a day to stop and refresh your soul in the beauty of the Lord. During the week I love sharing with you paper inspiration that encourages you to get crafty and give to others your talents. Today  I like stopping and meditating in the goodness of the Lord and His faithfulness. God's love never fails. He continually and consistently loves me. Consistenly pursues me, consistenly teaches me. I am so glad (happy and excited to be honest) that He never ever gets tired of me. I can get tired of myself sometimes. Tired of my mistakes, my weaknesses, my moods! Yikes, but how awesome to know my God never leaves me or forsakes me. He consistenly IS with me. What an honor to serve and love such a God.
A particular word that arose at the beginning of 2013 for me was Consistency. I truly value when others are consistent in their word, their behavior, their love. I value when I am consistent with God, with my loved ones and even with strangers. That word, that little word has kept me going believing that even if I don't see fruit right away consistency will 'pay' off. In every area of my life if I am consistent there for sure will be good fruit. So, thou I may be going through hard times, I have chosen to be as consistent as I can in what I believe. I believe in God, I believe in His goodness for me, "His goodness and mercies will follow me", I believe in that I was created for greatness, I believe consistency is good for my soul, for those around me, and for my world. If I want to raise consistency around me, I am to pursue consistency. I will keep doing what is good. I will keep believing in my dreams, I will keep working hard to attain the goal. I will keep Dreaming Big, Training Hard and Trusting God. I will work this year in my consistency in several areas. With God's help all things are possible...I will keep doing what I've been called to do with passion...with consistency!

Are you struggling with being consistent? Consistency means reliable, steady, even, stable, persistent, dependable, true to type, undevianting...wheew...I want to be consistent. Help me my Lord, to show myself loving consistenly, to create an athmosphere of freedom around me consistently, to live and value self-discipline, self-control. In this I wish to honor YOU.

Jesus consistently loves. What a beautiful assurance to know He is consistent with me, never changing...He loves me and supports me no matter what. Let's trust Him to teach us consistency.
Meditate this day in His consistent love...His consistent truth...His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.

I found this beautiful card (picture above) made by Stampin'Up! on my site. You can see all materials HERE! Stampin'Up! continually inspires you to make beauty around you and for me that is bringing Heaven's beauty to earth one way or another. May His kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Be blessed today with creativity.

Creative Blessings for you today...keep the joy of the Lord in your heart consistently!

Jessica Urrutia
