Organization Tips: Brads and Buttons

Good day stampin' friends!

So how in the world do you organize a ton of buttons and brads?
First, do a garage sale and sell everything you don't like anymore (you will make a few bucks!). This is what I did after becoming a demo. I only have enough time to use what I want to show. Lol!
I tried different ways through the years so I will show you my way and the highway (other ways)!

MY WAY!
I found these hanging bags (that you can fold and close with a velcro) about 5 years ago in a scrapbooking convention for about $10 each. I have no idea who carries them but if you see them and this method of storage works for you. Go for it. Nice eh!
Makeup/Cosmetic bags work too since they come with a hanger. See picture below.
I have more space to hang stuff than cabinets, drawers or shelves.

I used each of them different. Let me show you my Brads and Buttons one. The other two hold: All my embossing tools and powders, glittters and spritzers. The other (cosmetics one) holds a brad maker (I rarely use), cropadile and my stampin wheels. They hang  nicely from my baby's closet AKA my crafty supplies closet :).

On the top pocket I store the Stampin'Up! retired buttons and brads, and mini clothe hangers.
Second pocket from top I store my current colors brads
Third pocket from top I store my brights, subtles, neutrals and clear buttons
Forth/Bottom pocket I store my favorites...my Vintage Faceted buttons, Antique brads, mini silver brads and Natural Designer Buttons. Yikes! I love these!

It is easy for me to get in and out of the little closet and grab the one I want. It is see through, plus the Stampin'Up containers are too :). I don't have a ton of space for storage so this helps me to see what I have and if is getting too full, then maybe Im not using what I already have. HELLOO!!!

In the past I used to use these boxes (made for beads or pills). Now my oldest daughter, who loves to keep every button separated by color keeps hers in there.

Another easy way is just dump them all in a ziplock bag. Hey! It all depends on how organized you need to be to create. :)
I used to have containers similar to these below for eyelets...but I sold them at a garage sale. :/ Yeah! What was I thinking? Hehe. They work great to put inside a drawer. If you wish to divide all your brads and buttons by color this works good too. :)

Below is what Stampin'Up! carries to store embellishments and I love it. Since I get all my buttons and brads from Stampin'Up! it makes sense I get one of these someday. I'm waiting for the right time when I have a good spot for it. Having my baby's closet as my craft storage doesn't make it easy :(
Is ok...someday!

Best of Birthdays Samples

Good day everyone!

Seems to me like everyday there is something new and exciting going on in this company. I joined almost 3 years ago (in March) and I'm still as excited and connected as when I started. I love the discount we demonstrators get (20% of all sales at the beggining, it grows as your sales grow too), the opportunity to win free stamps or products, the fun webinars and video tutorials found on the demo website and last but not least the wonderful support and inspiration found on the Stampin'Connection website (website for demos only).

Now that I practically convinced you to become a demo...I certainly don't see how can anyone resist, lol! Let me keep you up-to-date with the promotions going on. I am pushed (by my own conscience) to organize in order to get the most out of all the fun and enjoy all these goodies...is so fun! :D

On the sample to the right I placed a piece of Real Red Polka Dots DSP and a mat of Rich Razzleberry little higher than center on a piece of  8 1/2" x 5 1/2"Whisper White, scored and folded in half. I stamped my Best of Birthdays image in Real Red. Then added a subtle detail with some embossed curves done with the New Simply Score Borders Plate. I think they coordinate with the cake. Like it?

Inspire your soul Sunday

Welcome to my blog dear ones,
Usually I post on paper projects, stamps, ink...just fun stuff I totally enjoy making for others. Today (and on Sundays) I would love to share with you another passion in my life. My biggest reason to live, therefore my major reason to do all I do, including crafting. Christ and His Word. Where would I be without His waters that satisfy?

Let me start by sharing this wonderful quote from an inspirational calendar I read daily.

"Whether it is the unexpected emergencies that throw our lives for a loop or the chaotic beauty we invite in to turn our house upside down, our home usually feels slightly bent, occasionally stained, somewhat disorganized- yet we are blessed by all the chaos...life, puppies, family, connections and living our God-given dreams. The chaos means we are living a full and meaninful life.

-Melissa Michaels, The Inspired Room

He makes beautiful things out of the dust. He makes beauty out of ashes. What makes me think that He cannot embrace me and do an beautiful work through me? I heard this truth from a wonderful preacher, Dan Mohler:"We tend to trust more in our ability to fail, that in HIS ability to live through us."
Isn't that true? Yikes! So much to learn and grow. I am not where I want to be, but thank God I'm not where I used to be. Thank the Lord today for His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.

Psalm 138:8 says: The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; your love , O Lord endures forever-- do not abandon the works of your hands."

He will never abandon what He started. He is the beggining and the end. He finishes what He starts. He is not done with you, and I praise Him every day for I know He is still not done with me. He loves me. He loves you dear one.

Have a blessed day and inspire your soul by knowing His love never fails, never gives up, never runs out on me.

See you tomorrow with more inspiration...be blessed!

Organization Tips: 12 x 12 paper and sketches

Happy Thursday everyone!

At last I got to hang my 12 x 12 Designer series paper on large bags.
I got these 2 gallon zipbags at United Supermarkets. They work great!
So happy to share!

Many people ask me repeatedly how do I do it all. I have a very full agenda and that's ok with me.
Where do I get my energy? From Heaven surely.
How do I plan my days? Daily.
What is my motto: Dream Big, Train Hard, Trust God
And my hope: "I can do all things (I've been called to do) through Christ who strengthens me". Philippians 4:13

Let me share what I found on my Iphone. An App (for children) called Drawing Carl. So cute! I even bought the upgrade for .99...I wanted more colors you know. Is easy to use and love having a sketch "notebook" at hand. What do you think of my sketchy idea? :)

So now that you know I have extra help (is Invisible thou). Let me share with you a few tips to excel in what you do. Let's do everything we do with joy, one thing at a time.  Stand on grace, give yourself grace...also, sleep!

I do what I do with certainty that I'm doing what I was born to do.
I love my life? Love your life and rejoice!

I cannot wait to hear from you! How do you currently organize your paper...and what about your sketches?
leave me a comment, is easy!

Loving Challenges CCMC235 & HSSSC151

Hello!
I'm getting real good at this. Challenges! I have never been competitive at all. (I'm still not this is just for fun.) Passionate? Yes! Determined? Yes! But competitive, nah! I used to lead a dance team inthe past and it was my custom to remind them the three 'C'. Do not compete, do not compare, do not complain. Lol! That really helped me...I still love dancing. So I re-started some dancing at Christ in the Arts Ballet School a few weeks ago. What a refreshment!

Let me share with you two cute Valentine cards I made to participate in two different challenges.
First Challenge, HSSSC151 from http://www.handstampedsentiments.blogspot.com/ which last until January 28th, so go ahead and try it. Is fun!
Check the other samples HERE! Love this site.

Materials in both cards:
Stamp: Happy Valentines Heart; CS: Razzleberry Ripple, Early Expresso; DSP: More Amore (in Spring Catalog); Ink Pads: Primrose Petals (top heart), Early Expresso and Primrose Petals (bottom); Tools:Finishing Touhces Edgelits (top), Corner Rounder punch (bottom); Embellishments: Basic Jewels Rhinestones and 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in E.Expresso (top), Antique brad, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in E.Expresso and 5/8" Crochet Trim (bottom).

Second, I truly loved the sketch CCMC235 from http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/
This one ends today Wednesday January 23rd...so we should go check the new one.
Go HERE to see the other renditions of this wonderful sketch.

2012 Create Thursday-015
Which one do you like the best? Will you try one? Time is in your hands. Be a good steward of it. I love to think my God delights in seeing me create...I am the daughter of my Father. :)

Rest,
